Last week was all about comfort food, hence the golden syrup steamed puddings! But this week I’ve been reflecting on discomfort and how, at times, it’s necessary to embrace it. I’ve been a tad lazy exercise-wise lately and have been indulging in the treat foods as opposed to the “good for you” foods. Result? Not feeling that vital to be honest. So, post puddings and getting over a cold, I decided that I needed to put up with some discomfort to get me feeling perky again. Sure enough some yoga, bike rides and loads of spinach from my garden for a week and I am feeling alive again. The point is, I didn’t want to do yoga, or bike uphill or eat spinach but I knew that I needed to. And, as usual, it’s working. Even if I don’t want to do the exercise or eat the not-treat food, the temporary discomfort gives way to the good feelings in no time at all. So here’s to discomfort, a temporary friend.
